Breathwork is the act of consciously connecting to one’s breath to experience greater physical, mental, emotional, and spiritual well-being.
When we breathe, we tap into our own vibrational medicine—a medicine that is available to us every moment of every day, no gurus or shamans required.
There are many different forms of breathwork…you may have even experienced a few! Breathing exercises of varying styles are often incorporated into yogic and mindfulness practices, each with their own benefit.
The primary form of breathwork I work with is known as Conscious Connected Breathing.
As the name implies, Conscious Connected Breathing entails connecting our inhales and exhales without a pause. Like the symbol of infinity, we draw life-giving energy from the belly up to the heart on an active inhale, allowing the energy to fall back into the belly with a relaxed exhale.
The patterns and blockages that are visible within our breath are often symbolic of those that exist within our lives. When we can open up our breathing pattern, allowing the energy centers of the heart and the belly to become more expansive, we find we become more open in our day-to-day lives.
Beyond the obvious, there are a number of reasons why you may want to experience a Breathwork session. These include, but are not limited to:
- Nervous system regulation, teaching the body to move from flight-or-fight into rest-and-digest (an essential in today’s stressed-out world)
- Increased energy and vitality
- Improved immune function
- Detoxification (breathing is one of the ways our bodies eliminate toxins)
- Allowing old emotions, memories, and experiences to rise to the surface for healing and gentle release in a safe space
- Releasing conscious and subconscious limiting beliefs
- Experiencing a greater sense of connectedness, both with yourself and others
- Unlocking the innate wisdom within your Being that can help you navigate life’s challenges
I was first exposed to Breathwork in 2018. I was at a retreat with my Mastermind group and knew we’d be doing this “Breathwork” thing, but I had no idea what it was or what it involved.
Was I in for a surprise!
As I lay breathing on the floor, surrounded by women I had only met in person for the first time that weekend, I began to feel emotions well up inside me.
“I feel like I have to cry. Why do I have to cry? I can’t cry in front of these people…”
The thoughts raced through my head, but I was unable to hold the tears back. What happened next was the biggest, most intense emotional release I had ever experienced.
Having struggled with substance abuse for over 10 years, I had a lot of emotions, memories, and experiences I had avoided dealing with under my belt. At the time, it felt like every single one of those things rose to the surface asking to be seen and felt, and then it disappeared.
I would later find out there was still more to process and release, but to this day, that Breathwork session has proved to be the most pivotal moment of my life. Even moreso than the day I decided to become sober.
Since that fateful day in April of 2018 Breathwork has allowed me to work through ancestral trauma, forgive myself for all of the terrible things I did in the depths of my addiction, forgive others for the ways they had violated me, and understand the root of the constant negative internal chatter that plagued me for most of my life.
My connection to my intuition is stronger, I’m more creative, I wake up feeling energized (something I hadn’t experienced for over 6 years), and I’m able to experience the emotions and feelings I spent years unsuccessfully chasing through the use of drugs and alcohol.
And now Breathwork has led me down this path of helping others heal themselves. It’s an honour to do this work—a responsibility I don’t take lightly.

All one-on-one Breathwork sessions are hosted online via Zoom and are two hours in length. We will be in touch prior to your session to begin to create the container. The day of your session, I encourage you to drink lots of water and have a light meal an hour or two before we meet.
The session will begin with intention-setting, inquiry, and listening. We may incorporate some movement before laying down to breathe.
You will be breathing for anywhere from 45-60 minutes, with 15 minutes of relaxation at the end. We will complete the session with an opportunity to discuss what came up and how that shifts things for you moving forward.
Investment: Breathwork sessions are available in one, five, or ten-session packages.
Single Breathwork Session: $165+GST
Five Breathwork Sessions: $775+GST
Ten Breathwork Sessions: $1450+GST
Distance Reiki sessions can be added to the relaxation phase of your breathwork session for an additional $35 to help ground you back into your body and support your healing process.
