Do you ever get excited when you find a company that just gets it?
The types of supplements I put in my body have changed dramatically since I started using them about 6 or 7 years ago. From whey protein with questionable ingredients to high-quality whey protein to vegan proteins, both my needs and the way my body responds to these powders is totally different.
I stopped using whey protein a little over a year ago because I was tired of how gross it always made my stomach feel. I experimented with a few varieties of vegan powders, some of which I had already been using occasionally, and settled on a brand that had a lot of credibility behind them.
Unfortunately, as I continued to use it I noticed I was still feeling bloated afterwards. Not quite as much as I did with whey, but moreso than I liked. I’ve been frustrated with spending money on different powders, each claiming to be better than the next, so I stuck with the okay-but-still-kinda-bloaty powder.
When I was introduced to the guys at Veden, I’m not going to lie – I thought it was just another one of those powders that made all these different claims about being clean and natural and tasting good. I was given a few samples and actually forgot about it for a couple of weeks.
So when I was in a pinch one day and needed to grab something before heading out the door, I decided to mix up some Veden with water and take it with me. And lo and behold IT WAS AWESOME.
None of the hardcore grittiness you typically get with vegan protein powders. It mixed well. No bloating afterwards. And the best part – it tasted delicious. No weird artificial sweeteners or intense stevia flavours some of the other brands have.
Veden is a fast-growing company that is 100% Canadian owned, and I’m so excited to have the opportunity to team up with them and spread the good word of plant-based nutrition for athletes. I have been thinking of switching to a more plant-based diet for a couple of years now but always felt intimidated by the idea. A lot has happened recently that has led to the decision to slowly make the transition, so this was perfect timing for me!
I can’t wait to share how I feel after using Veden regularly. But in the meantime, check out my first of what I hope to be many guest posts over on Veden’s Community Blog.
And if you’d like to learn a little more about Veden’s whole food vegan supplements, you can check them out here.
Have you ever heard of Veden before? What’s your favourite source of plant-based supplementation?
